Let’s Speak Out About Child Abuse Prevention

This year’s theme is “My family is strong when….”
Asking some questions can help us understand some of the many important qualities of strong families.  Think about a time when your family faced a challenge or important decision.    What family strength helped change things for the better?  What are the qualities in your family that help you feel confident and open to learn new things?  How does your family adjust as kids grow and change?  How does your family make room for one another’s different ideas, feelings, and ways of doing things?  What family rules and roles help you get along and which ones, if any, get in the way?  When the world seems scary and people do not seem friendly or trustworthy, how does your family support its members? 
We hope these questions will inspire your thinking and writing about strong families.

Battle of the Bands

Yes 2 Kids, the Antelope Valley Child Abuse Prevention Council, and the Boys and Girls Club of Lancaster are putting on a big event called “Bands 4 Abuse Prevention, Battle of the Bands".

The concert will take place on May 15th 2010. The auditions will take place on February 27th and March 6th at Antelope Valley High School cafeteria.
